Humans have transformed three quarters of the terrestrial biosphere. In the face of sustainability challenges, restoring degraded landscapes is a global priority. Here, we explore insects’ connections to restoration from two complementary perspectives: how they benefit from ecosystem restoration/recovery, and how they can be used as tools in this process.
