Recent technological and methodological advances can be leveraged to enhance Areawide pest management (AWPM) programs. Benefits to AWPM may include improvements to pest and natural enemy surveillance and the allocation of pest management resources through spatiotemporal pest forecasts, automated pest monitoring systems, and broad dissemination of real-time pest reporting information.
