Where did integrated pest management come from? We’ll revisit IPM’s origins in ecology and understanding the distribution and abundance of animal populations and how we arrived at an applied science for management in agricultural, forest, and human health systems. By understanding the foundation of IPM theory we can reset to thinking about how to continue to encourage adoption. We’ll discuss how application of new technologies could enable accessible adoption of IPM in a complicated management landscape.
