CRISPR genome editing is transforming agriculture by enabling precise, efficient, and targeted improvements in crops. While many tools were initially developed for human therapeutics, agriculture presents unique biological and logistical challenges—and equally unique opportunities to deliver impact at scale. Pairwise harnesses the power of CRISPR in its proprietary Fulcrum™ Platform to adapt and optimize systems for plant applications. Our approach combines rapid screening and validation to identify and refine the most effective tools for plant applications. These tools are applied to develop traits that improve yield, resilience, and consumer experience across a diverse range of crops—from major row crops like corn and soybeans to specialty vegetables and fruits like leafy greens and blackberries. By addressing key traits such as disease resistance, quality, and yield, Pairwise is unlocking new possibilities for sustainable agriculture and more appealing food options for consumers. Looking ahead, the versatility of CRISPR and the scalability of our platform create fertile ground for collaborations across the agri-food value chain. To date, we have more than 10 collaborations and licenses with a wide range of organizations. Together, we can accelerate the development of climate-resilient, nutritious, and profitable crops, shaping the future of global food production.
