The Insect Impact Initiative is an advocacy-driven project designed to connect entomology with climate action. While insects are often overlooked in climate discussions, they play critical roles in pollination, carbon cycling, soil health, and ecosystem resilience. Yet, public awareness and policy solutions rarely highlight insects as allies in addressing the climate crisis. The Initiative will create two interconnected products: 1. Advocacy one-pagers: a series of printable, state-specific one-page infographics highlighting insect-related climate solutions—such as pollinator-friendly renewable energy, soil restoration, regenerative agriculture, and pest management innovations. These will be designed for citizens to bring directly to their legislators, bridging science and policy in a visually compelling, easy-to-use format. Users will be able to download updated one-pagers customized to their state, ensuring advocacy materials remain current and regionally relevant. 2. Online insect-related climate solution practitioner database: an interactive website that maps and catalogs organizations, research projects, and advocacy groups working on insect-related climate solutions. Together, these tools provide a powerful platform for science-based advocacy, equipping communities and policymakers with clear, actionable knowledge. By making insect-related climate solutions visible, accessible, and policy-ready, the Insect Impact Initiative empowers entomologists, educators, and citizens to transform research into real-world climate action.
