Grazing lands have the potential to improve conservation efforts for pollinator species, especially those in decline. Rangelands and pasturelands typically provide large blocks of perennial vegetation that are managed for livestock production, and years of research have shown the positive, negative, and neutral impacts to pollinators, depending on species identity and resource availability. This talk will go over the broad themes associated with pollinators in grazing lands, including why variable responses are observed, what can be done to multifunctional grazing lands that support pollinators and livestock production, and recent technological advances to help broaden research questions and expand monitoring efforts.
